Abstract:
The project is designed to make a Automatic medicine reminder for the health contest. Normally elderly people forgot to take their prescript medication. A lot of people, especially elderly people, take a lot medication on a daily basis to stay as healthy as possible. Some of that medication needs to be taken on a exact time, or they don't function as well.
So this machine that automatically gives the right pills at the right moment and also sounds an alarm so that the person who needs those pills knows it's time for his or her medication.

The project is build around AT89S52 MCU. In this project, we set the timer by means of a microcontroller. The activation and deactivation time schedules can be programmed with microcontroller. Real time clock chip DS1307 is used to set the schedule.
Control switches are provided for entering the required timings.  LCD display is provided to display the alarm times and current time. DS1307 is interfaced to the microcontroller for real timing performance. A 3V battery can be connected to DS1307 to avoid time disturbances caused by power failures.
DS1307 has inbuilt flash EEPROM. Data stored remains in the memory even after power failure, as the memory ensures reading of the latest saved settings by the micro controller.

This project uses regulated 5V, 500mA power supply. Unregulated 12V DC is used for relay. 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac out put of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.
