ABSTRACT
Data collection
is a term used to describe a process of preparing and collecting data, for example, as
part of a process improvement or similar project. Data
Collection is an important aspect of any type of research study. Inaccurate
data collection can impact the results of a study and ultimately lead to
invalid results. A method of gathering and calculating
data given the appropriate app to support those data gathering
needs. With the availability of an mobile for many of us the search began to
find an app that lends to easier, meaningful and more
efficient electronic data collection. Measuring time and frequency has
never been so easy. To count how often an event is occurring, simply press the
button when the event is observed. To time how long an event is occurring,
simply hold the button down while it is happening or lock it in place for
hands-free recording.
Mobile data collection
forms save valuable time. Imagine conducting a mobile survey without the delays
of printing and shipping paper forms. You do not need to worry about paper
forms being lost or damaged in transit. With mobile data collection software
you do not need to reenter data into a computer because its digital to start
with. So there are no reporting delays. so you do not need to worry about the
time required to set up and maintain servers.
Take a picture, and
then annotate it. Collect action video of an event. Record audio questions.
Collect a GPS coordinate, and then display it on a map. Scan barcodes to save
time, increase accuracy, and reduce fraud. Send ad-hoc and pre-scheduled
dispatch forms and work order forms out to your mobile workers. Our mobile data
collection software allows you to do all of this with no need for software
programmers or IT support staff.
Imagine using your
mobile data collection software to instantly take a picture, and then sketch on
top of it to illustrate something of interest; or to scan the barcodes of
materials being delivered to a job site. Imagine recording audio notes and
video clips and embedding them right in your electronic mobile data collection
forms; or using the GPS to precisely record a location. Think about the
increased speed and accuracy of reporting.
EXISTING
SYSTEM:
Collecting data was typically performed
through reassessment, checklists, rubrics, observation and anecdotal notes
taken on student progress. Hard copy notes was the most typical method of
collecting data.
Disadvantage:
- High
expensive
- Time taken
procedures and methods
- Inconsistence
data and irrelevant data
- onsite
deployment.
PROPOSED
SYSTEM:
Using our mobile data collection
software to instantly take a picture, illustrate something of interest; or to
scan the barcodes of materials being delivered to a job site. Imagine recording
audio notes and video clips and embedding them right in your electronic mobile

about the increased speed and accuracy of reporting.
ADVANTAGE:
- significantly
lower expenses
- time
savings by not having to ship paper or to reenter data into a computer
- richer,
more complete and more accurate data
- remote
deployment to your workers; and in many cases
- the ability
to use devices that you already own

Data collection
Many
variables can be collected by more than one method and at different points from
fishers to consumers. Where possible, data should be collected from several
sources to crosscheck for errors. Making direct measurements is the most
accurate method for many variables, such as catch, but is often expensive. Many
methods, such as observer programmes, are limited to industrial fisheries.
- Project listing
There
are strong links between types of data, where they can be obtained and the
methods, which are available for their collection. This section provides a
guide for selecting data collection methods in relation to the data type and
source, and gives some indication of what types of data can be collected
simultaneously. Forms which are completed and returned by respondents. An
inexpensive method that is useful where literacy rates are high and respondents
are co-operative.
- Status
representation
In
the analysis phase, the researcher compares group scores on some dependent
variable. Based on the analysis, the researcher draws a conclusion about
whether the treatment (
independent variable) had a causal effect on the dependent variable. The
main alternative to making direct measurements is to require fishers and others
to report their activities. Reporting requires literacy and co-operation, but
can be backed up by a legal requirement and direct measurements.
