ABSTRACT:

A rescue robot is a robot that has been designed for the purpose of aiding rescue workers. Common situations that employ rescue robots are mining accidents, urban disasters, hostage situations, and explosions. Rescue robots were used in the search for victims and survivors after the September 11 attacks in New York. The benefits of rescue robots to these operations include reduced personnel requirements, reduced fatigue, and access to otherwise unreachable areas. Robotic search and rescue is useful since robots may be deployed in dangerous environments without putting human responders at risk. This project is a prototype which is widely used for military applications.

PIR sensor is used to detect human. A Passive Infra Red sensor (PIR sensor) is an electronic device which measures infrared light radiating from objects in its field of view. Apparent motion is detected when an infrared source with one temperature, such as a human, passes in front of an infrared source with another temperature, it detects. It acts as a motion detector.

This robot uses RF technology controlled by RF remote. This can be moved forward and reverse direction using geared motors of 60RPM. Also this robot can take sharp turnings towards left and right directions. This project uses AT89S52 MCU as its controller. Also a wireless camera with voice is interfaced to the kit.

The RF modules used here are STT-433 MHz Transmitter, STR-433 MHz Receiver, HT12E RF Encoder and HT12D RF Decoder. The switches are interfaced to the RF transmitter through RF Encoder. The encoder continuously reads the status of the switches, passes the data to the RF transmitter and the transmitter transmits the data.

This project uses 9V battery. This project is much useful for mines detection and surveillance applications.
