ABSTRACT
Providing solution to the shipyard
industry to schedule and reschedule ship’s effectively. Handles consignments
for Consigners, Uploading data, Online tracking for the Consigners, handle
ships and route information.To implement a system that can track
consignment, container and cargo when ship is in between ports. A system is
fully manual which involves communication between the customer or organization
and the employees at the transmitting port and receiving port.
The present
system picks up consigner and cargo information from the organization and
generates a consignment document. A copy of the document is handed over to the
consigner, a copy is kept for them and a third copy is send to the destination
port. At the receiving end the consignment copy of the document is shown and
delivery done.
The
central concept of the application is to allow the consigner to book cargo to
the consignee at the port and has the consignment shipped to the consignee. The
aim of the proposed system is to implement the system
that can track consignment, container and cargo when ship is at different
ports. The main objectives of the system is tracking the consignment or cargo
after the ship has set sail provide a facility to re-schedule consignments,
accessible globally in order to have a wide network coverage and increases
customer confidence, cargo availability & re-scheduling which improves
delivery to the consignee.
The consigner
gets to see the existing schedule, the ports the ship has already crossed, the
last visited port, a site map, which clearly explains the position of the ship
and container .The consigner now has as facility to reschedule his cargo and
book another port where the cargo can be received.
It is also possible that the ship had taken a
different port or route in the process missing ports where consignments were
initially scheduled. In such cases the administrator prepares the altered
scheduled which shows the different route taken by the ship and where the
consignment is a registration module is provided only for valid users to access
the site. The site is functional from two users view point and administrator
and the pilots.

Disadvantages:
v Depends
upon the individual efficiency the performance of the entire system.
v The
consigner and the consignee are unaware of the consignment or cargo when the
ship sets sail.
v A facility
to reschedule the delivery port is not available.
v If the
consignment has altered the root in which it has to move tracking of the cargo
is not possible.
PROPOSED SYSTEM:
The
aim of the proposed system is to implement the system
that can track consignment, container and cargo when ship is at different
