ABSTRACT:
The
project is standalone project to control the AC loads in various places without
causing any physical strain to user. So, this project is useful for physically
challenged person using one of the advanced technologies such as IR. Controlling
electrical appliances through IR is interesting and very useful application.
This system is widely used in industries, offices, Banks, hotels, hospitals,
and display boards. This is an interesting project built with IR and AT89S52
MCU. By using this project one can control AC appliances such as fan/bulb any
electrical appliances using IR communication.
IR rays are transmitted through remote and these rays
are received by a receiver. Here, in this project we are using AT89S52 MCU to
control AC loads we use traic based driver circuit to control the loads, which
is very much helpful for physically challenged person.
This project has an IR transmitter
and a receiver. Whenever a person waves a hand this device gets detected, the
IR light will be reflected, and received by the IR receiver. This sends a
signal to microcontroller and it turns ON the Ac load without physical strain.
The
project is build around AT89S52.It is used for switching the load equipment using
IR communication to control AC loads by using a combination of MOC (Opto
Coupler) 3021 and TRIAC (BT136) is used for Load driving.
This
project uses regulated 5V, 500mA power supply. Unregulated 12V DC is used for
relay. 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation.
Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac out put of secondary
of 230/12V step down transformer.
